A new test on the crossing between Homo sapiens and Neanderthals, comes from DNA analysis conducted at a jaw 40 thousand years old, found in 2002 in a Romanian cave. The study suggests that both species coexisted in Europe for at least 5000 years, during which genetically crossed repeatedly.
Scientists estimate that the Neanderthal individual whose jaw analyzed ancestry goes back to 4 or 6 generations of your family tree, conclusive evidence that early modern humans arrived in Europe were mixed with Neanderthals already established in the territory.
"There is archaeological evidence that modern humans interacted with Neanderthals during the time they lived in Europe.
