"Phantom Eye" the amazing syndrome. Here the details.
Amazing syndrome "Phantom Eye" |
The phantom limb syndrome, or phantom pain, is well known medicine in the case of people who have lost a limb, yet, perceived by reflex sensations, such as pain or tingling in the missing part of your body .
But there is a much less common type of physical ghost whose effects are hard to imagine for those who do not have: it is the "phantom eye".
This syndrome has been studied thoroughly and in detail by the psychologist Laura Hope-Stone, University of Liverpool, who interviewed 239 patients who had lost an eye.
Among the testimonies of these people, aged 52 and 82, are the ghostly descriptions of "A figure walking beside me"; "Images of people on the move when turning right away"; "Passing things and items that are not there People"; "People in the Dark"; "Aquatic landscape between algae"; and even the story of a woman of 70 years: "Once I woke to find an unidentified person next to my bed." This phenomenon occurs when information signals are reaching the brain reflexively derived from custom, without being recorded by an eye that is not already in place; its effects, as noted, can be really disturbing to the patient's psychological stability.
