The Gold Coast will meet Newcastle in the NRLW grand final.

The Gold Coast Titans defeated the Sydney Roosters 12-0 to advance to the NRLW final versus Newcastle and secure the city's first major grand final berth in any code.

After reigning champions Newcastle defeated Brisbane 30-24 in the first semi-final, the Titans defeated a bruised and battered Roosters in the second.

Brittany Breayley-Nati scored the Titans' first try of the first half, darting out of the dummy half before Rilee Jorgensen converted a key penalty goal after the interval.

Gold Coast dominated possession and territory in the second half, putting the game out of reach when Evania Pelite sent winger Destiny Mino-Sinapati over late.

After winning the table in 2022 and placing second this season, the Roosters have been eliminated at the semi-final stage in consecutive years.

Injuries have plagued the Tricolours this season, with Jessica Sergis missing the semi-final due to a finger injury and fullback Corban Baxter needing time off the field with ankle trouble on Sunday before shifting to centre.

However, with a roster near the league's finest, they will feel they have yet to achieve if they do not make the final.

The Titans' victory allows them to break the city's sporting curse, as no team from the glitter strip has ever reached a national top-grade final in any major sporting discipline.

"We speak about it often how important it is for us to get that premiership and bring it home to the Gold Coast for the club and community up there," Karyn Murphy, our coach, said.

"Having that opportunity there to do that next week is really exciting."

Murphy becomes the first woman to coach a team to an NRLW grand final by reaching the final.

The Titans must stop Knights fullback Tamika Upton at Accor Stadium next Sunday to win their first men's or women's premiership.

In the Knights' triumph over Brisbane on Sunday, the superstar No.1 scored one try and set up two more while sprinting 202 metres and breaking 12 tackles.

She assisted on two early tries as the minor premiers raced out to an 18-0 lead after 18 minutes, only to be forced to hold off a second-half Brisbane rally.

Brisbane returned to the game at 18-10 following tries to Shenae Ciesiolka and Chelsea Lenarduzzi either side of halftime in front of a record crowd of 12,689 in Newcastle.

Upton briefly halted the comeback with her try, but Brisbane quickly brought the score back to 24-18 with nine minutes remaining.

With a 12-point advantage late, Newcastle bench forward Tiana Davison gave the Knights breathing room, and they held on for the last three minutes when Brisbane winger Lauren Dam scored to make it 30-24 late.

For the Knights, teen half Jesse Southwell also kicked five-from-five, with kicking proving to be the difference as both teams finished with five tries.
