On this day, in 1999, went on sale the popular multiplayer PC game Counter-Strike. It was designed by Minh Le and Jess Cliffe.
Developed by US company Valve Corporation, the Counter-Strike was presented as a variation of the popular game Half-Life, released last year.
The Counter-Strike can be played online or via a LAN connection. Initially, the game platform was Microsoft Windows, but today can be used on other operating systems like Linux and Macintosh.
The March 25, 2004 was released the version for the Xbox console. The Counter-Strike quickly became a success; today it is one of the world's most popular multiplayer games.
Counter-Strike is a game of first-person shooter in which two groups of participants face in successive rounds. Players are equipped with weapons like guns, knives and grenades, and other equipment such as bulletproof vests and night-vision goggles
