Military probably born in Rome, according to the Bible, Pontius Pilate, known simply as "Pilate," was who condemned Jesus to die on the cross. Its origins are unknown, however it is known that he was named fifth governor of Judea by the emperor Tiberius (42 BC - 37), succeeding Valerius Gratus em 26 AD, point from which I had a only subordinate to the governor absolute power Caesarea.
