Factors increasing global warming are affecting the underlying structure of the planet, which could generate a series of "extreme geological events," comparable to the devastating earthquake that rocked Nepal, as stated by the professor of geophysics and climate risks, Bill McGuire.
The expert also said that the earthquake in Nepal is attributable to pressure on the tectonic plates that form the surface of the Earth, caused in turn by the ebb and flow of rainwater flow in large river deltas of India and Bangladesh .
Besides the reduction of ice and sea level rise, flooding planned for the XXI century are inevitable, said Bill McGuire, professor at University College London.
