Examining the Week 4 Dolphins-Bills Injury Report

The final injury report for the Miami Dolphins Week 4 game against the Buffalo Bills included five players with game status designations, one of which was already known.

Outside linebacker Jaelan Phillips (oblique) has been ruled out for the second time in three weeks, according to head coach Mike McDaniel, before practise Friday.

Four others were classified as questionable, including tackle Terron Armstead, who told reporters after practice that he would "definitely" play despite suffering from back/ankle/knee concerns and being limited Thursday and Friday after not training on Wednesday.

Centre Connor Williams (groin), S DeShon Elliott (ankle/groin), and RB Salvon Ahmed (groin) were also listed as questionable.

If Williams is unable to participate, Liam Eichenberg will take his position at the centre. Ahmed was sidelined against Denver last Sunday, allowing rookie De'Von Achane to enjoy a big day against the Broncos.

If Elliott is inactive, two-year starter Brandon Jones, who has been rehabbing from a ruptured ACL since the start of training camp, may receive his first start of the season.

The four players listed as questionable took part in limited practice on Friday.

River Cracraft and Erik Ezukanma were removed from the injury list on Friday because they were placed on IR and Reserve/Non-Football Injury, respectively, and are no longer on the 53-man roster.

CB Eli Apple and the three active tight ends — Durham Smythe, Tyler Kroft, and Julian Hill — were full participants in practice Friday and did not get game status designations, indicating they are ready to start.

INJURY REPORT BY BILLS

The Bills only had one player earn a game status classification, but it was a significant one, as safety Jordan Poyer was declared out due to a knee injury.

Taylor Rapp, a free agency acquisition, is likely to start opposite veteran Micah Hyde in his absence.

Because of the injury, fellow safety Damar Hamlin, who suffered a heart arrest in that Monday night game against Cincinnati late last season, is slated to make his first appearance of the season after sitting out Buffalo's first three games.
