Google's Doodle honours Nigeria's 63rd anniversary of independence.



The morning of Independence Day begins with a nationally televised address by the president of Nigeria to the populace. A crowd dressed in green and white congregates in Lagos to watch military exercises by the Nigerian Armed Forces. Many people later participated in the formal hoisting of the Nigerian flag and cutting the cake commemorating Independence Day.

The Google Doodle for today honours Nigeria's Independence Day! The most populous nation in Africa formally attained independence in 1960.
