Google's homepage featured a special doodle commemorating Nigeria's 63rd Independence Day. Nigeria's national flag was waving against a brilliant blue sky in the doodle. Google highlighted the significance of Nigeria's Independence Day celebrations, including the President's nationally televised broadcast, military maneuvers by the Nigerian Armed Forces, the raising of the Nigerian flag, and the cutting of an Independence Day cake.
The doodle also highlighted the cultural side of the festivities, noting a typical Nigerian dish of plantains and chicken eaten with jollof rice, which is a feature of Independence Day celebrations. Nigerians were said to spend the day with family and friends, frequently taking their celebrations to the beach for dancing and fireworks.
President Bola Tinubu highlighted his commitment to reconstructing the country and solving concerns like as hunger, poverty, and suffering in a live broadcast on Nigeria's Independence Day. He admitted that the reform process would be difficult, but highlighted its importance in achieving greatness and a better future for Nigeria.
